Description:
Enroflox 5% is a pale yellow to yellow, clear injectable solution, formulated with enrofloxacin (50 mg/mL), a potent fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Its bactericidal activity targets Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, as well as Mycoplasma spp., making it a versatile solution for veterinary use.

- Excipients: Potassium hydroxide, benzyl alcohol, citric acid monohydrate, water for injections.
Pharmacological Properties:
Enroflox 5% works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV, blocking DNA replication, transcription, and repair processes. This dual action effectively combats infections caused by a wide range of pathogens including:
- Gram-negative: E. coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp.
- Gram-positive: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp.
- *Mycoplasma spp.
Applications:
- Calves: Treatment of respiratory diseases (bronchopneumonia, hemorrhagic septicemia), gastrointestinal infections (colibacillosis), and mycoplasmosis.
- Pigs: Management of diarrhea, enterotoxemia, and MMA syndrome (metritis-mastitis-agalactia).
- Dogs: Treatment of infections in the digestive, respiratory, and urogenital systems, and skin conditions.
Dosage and Administration:
- Calves: Subcutaneous injection of 0.5–1 mL per 10 kg body weight daily for 3–5 days. Maximum 10 mL per injection site.
- Pigs: Intramuscular injection of 0.5–1 mL per 10 kg body weight daily for 3–5 days. Maximum 2.5 mL per injection site.
- Dogs: Subcutaneous injection of 0.1 mL per kg body weight daily for 5 days.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to enrofloxacin.
- Young dogs (under 12–18 months, depending on breed).
- Pregnant or lactating animals.
- Animals with central nervous system issues or underdeveloped cartilage and bones.
- Simultaneous use with tetracyclines, macrolides, chloramphenicol, or theophylline.
Withholding Periods:
- Meat: 14 days after last administration.
- Milk: Not indicated for lactating animals.
Packaging and Storage:
- Form: 100 mL amber glass vials with rubber stoppers and aluminum seals.
- Storage: Keep in a dry, dark place between 5°C and 25°C. Keep out of children’s reach.
- Shelf Life: 3 years.
