Torbugesic 10ml Solution for Injection is a synthetic opioid analgesic containing butorphanol tartrate, designed for veterinary use to manage pain in horses, dogs, and cats. It is available in a 10 ml vial, with each milliliter containing 10 mg of butorphanol.

Indications:

Horses: Provides relief from moderate to severe abdominal pain associated with colic, including conditions like torsion, impaction, intussusception, parturition, and spasmodic or tympanic colic.

Dogs and Cats: Used as an analgesic and sedative for various conditions as determined by a veterinarian.

Dosage and Administration:

Horses: Administer 0.1 mg per kg of body weight (0.05 mg per lb) intravenously, equivalent to 5 ml per 1000 lbs. The dose may be repeated every 3 to 4 hours, not exceeding 48 hours of treatment.
Dogs and Cats: Dosage and administration routes (intravenous, intramuscular, or subcutaneous) should be determined by a veterinarian based on the specific needs of the animal.

Precautions:

Use with caution when combined with other sedatives or analgesics due to potential additive effects.
